An imposing winemaker’s estate house. Since the 16th century, this estate has been held by Bernese patrician families. Passed down primarily through the female line, it has only been sold once. Its history appears to date back to Hans Franz Nägeli, commander of the Bernese troops who conquered the Pays de Vaud in 1536. It then passed to the de Watteville, Wurstemberger, Willading, and May families, then to their descendants, the de Hallwyl and de Mulinen families, and finally, in 1915, to the d’Erlach family. It was added to the cantonal heritage inventory in 1976.
